Glebe Point Rd Glebe Sydney
A rustic collection of buildings that have been a focus for the Glebe community. Icon stores such as ‘Glee Books’ and the iconic ‘cafe “Bade Manners’. The colonial style of the streetscape has been maintained by community groups such as the ‘Glebe Society’.
These artworks are fully functional stoneware clay pieces. They can be taken down from a wall or sideboard to be the serving platter with friends. My purpose in these works are to engage dinner party participants about their experiences along the street.
Each artwork is bespoke as I don’t keep track of the glaze colours being used from one work to another, that is except the iconic buildings whose designs are not to be altered. (Please note the flaw in the foot on the back .. this will not effect any functionality of the work as it has been fired to vitrification - the hangers are secured to other foot holes)
COMMISSIONS: I do take commissions by clients of streetscapes they have an affinity with. I have created works of other streetscapes from around King St Newtown, the islands of Greece and Murano - Italy - in the Venetian Lagoon. Just contact and we will discuss your needs.
